    • Size is an important comparison to make. You must purchase the right sized shed in order for your lawn to not look overrun by the shed. Measure the area of your lawn you would like the shed to go, and the compare sheds within that size range.

    Material

    • You can purchase a shed in a variety of different materials. Depending on the area you live in, the best material for your shed will vary. If you live in an area where you experience harsh storms, you will need to purchase a sturdier shed. Common shed materials include: vinyl, metal, wood and plastic.

    Features

    • Some sheds include a shelving system while others do not. If you need shelves, compare different storage sheds until you find one with a shelving unit included. Other features include: windows, locks and additional insulation.
