Can I Get Into USC With a 550 GMAT?

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) results are required for admission to USC.

Test results from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) are required to apply to many Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree programs, including the MBA program at the USC Marshall School of Business.

The GMAT

The GMAT has four parts; Verbal, Quantitative, Total and Analytical Writing. Examinees receive a ranking based on the most recent three-year period. GMAT test results can be accessed for five years.

Test Results

GMAT test results range from 200 to 800 points. Two-thirds of all GMAT examinees receive an overall test score of between 400 and 600. You can retake the GMAT if you are dissatisfied with your initial GMAT score results.

Requirements for USC Admission

Although USC has no minimum requirements for GMAT test results, a score of 550 is just an average score and admission to USC's MBA program is very competitive. Unless your other application materials and GPA are outstanding, you may want to consider retaking the GMAT to try for a higher score. USC policy states "The Admissions Committee will consider the highest score." If you are denied admission, you can obtain the reason(s) for the denial at counseling sessions offered by USC in September.
