    • Geography can affect salaries of nursing managers. Those working in the city of New York are reporting some of the highest salaries in the U.S., earning between $82,495 and $101,985 each year. Those professionals working in the city of Cleveland are reporting much lower incomes, earning between $63,615 and $81,733 a year.

    Employer

    • The choice of employer for nursing managers could have some bearing on income as well, according to an October 2010 survey by Payscale.com. Those working in hospitals are reporting salaries of between $68,266 and $90,370 a year. Those professionals employed with private practices are reporting earnings of up to $71,587 at the higher end.
