    • When controlling fleas on your pet, you can choose a once-a-month topical solution, sprays, dips, flea fighting shampoos or have your pet wear a flea collar. Meanwhile, there similar options available for fighting ticks, including a powder, but they are generally messy.

    Considerations

    • According to Pet Education, the once-a-month topical solution is the most effective and easiest to use. There are even some products available to kill both fleas and ticks.
