Head out to one of 3,800 destinations across the U.S. and Canada by stepping aboard a Greyhound bus. Purchase tickets for your adventure at the station right up to the time of departure, or order them in advance from the comfort of home.

Order Your Tickets

Greyhound offers several ways to book your trip.

Head to the Terminal

Use the company's online station locator to find a bus terminal or ticket agent to buy your tickets in person. You can purchase tickets in advance or catch the next bus out of town. Some locations provide self-service kiosks. Pay for your at terminals or agencies with a major credit card, cash or traveler's check and receive your tickets on the spot.

From the Convenience of Home

Over the Phone: Book your journey from the comfort of home over the phone or on the company's website using a credit card. A company representative will help you find the closest bus station to you and book the departure best suited to your schedule.

On the Web: When booking over the website, use the online station locator to find the closest depot. Once you have the information, return to the home page to fill out the details of your trip. Choose from the most convenient departure times on the dates you wish to travel.

Online Ticket Pricing

In addition to the standard fare for the trip, online purchasers will find choice of discounts and pricing options for their chosen trip.

  • Web-only fare: Usually the cheapest way to travel, these discounted, nonrefundable fares are subject to holiday blackout dates and other restrictions.  You may not combine other discounts with the Web-only fare.
  • Advance purchase: Sold up to 21 days in advance, these fares are nonrefundable and limited to specific departure dates. They are subject to holiday travel blackouts, don't allow for stopovers and can't be used with any other discount.
  • Refundable: If your plans are subject to change, refundable tickets allow you to exchange or return your tickets with no exchange fees or other penalties. You'll pay a little more for the ticket up front, however.
  • Standard: Should you need to change your plans with the standard fare, you can exchange them for another day by paying an extra fee. If you cancel your plans altogether, the tickets are nonrefundable.
  • Discount fares: Check the company's website to see whether you qualify for one of the discount rates offered for friends and family, active military, veterans, children or seniors.

Paying For Your Ticket

If you don't want to use your credit card to secure your reservation, you can pay with cash. You'll need your mobile confirmation receipt on your phone or print out a confirmation receipt. Take the receipt to a participating 7-Eleven store or Ace Cash Express to complete the transaction. The receipt the agent gives you will act as your boarding pass. You'll need to complete the transaction within 48 hours of making your reservation, but no later than four hours before your bus departs.

Tip

  • Reserve your favorite seat in advance and be the first to board the bus with priority boarding. Go to the ticket counter up to 45 minutes before departure to purchase your priority boarding pass. You must be at the gate to board 20 minutes prior to departure.

Getting Your Ticket

Ordering online gives you the option of printing your bus ticket on your home computer. If you don't have a printer, you can pick it up at the will call counter at the bus depot. Bring your photo ID and the credit card you used to pay for the tickets online. Should the credit card holder not be riding the bus, riders will need the reference number of the transaction in place of the credit card. Another option is to create a password to use in place of the reference number. Riders should also bring photo identification. Picking up the ticket at the will call counter is available for a nominal fee.

Tip

  • Give the gift of travel by purchasing a ticket for another person online. The gift recipient must present his ID and a password of your choosing to pick up the ticket. Only the purchaser can apply for a refund or exchange should the traveler's plans change.
