Powerball is one of the most popular American lottery games.

Powerball is a popular American lottery game available to play in 42 states as well as Washington, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Power Play is an additional wager that can potentially multiply a player's winnings.

  1. How Powerball Works

    • Each ticket costs US $1. You pick 5 white numbers from 1 to 59, and then one red Powerball number from 1 to 39. You win the jackpot if all your numbers match. Get all 5 white numbers and win $200,000.

    Lower Prizes

    • You can win $3 for matching the red Powerball all the way to $10,000 for matching 4 white numbers plus the red Powerball.

    Power Play

    • For an extra $1 you can choose the Power Play option on your ticket. For any winning combination other than the jackpot, Power Play multiplies your winnings by a factor of 2, 3, 4 or 5. The multiplier is chosen by spinning a wheel before the draw.

    Power Play Prizes

    • If you win any prize of $3 to $10,000 and you chose the Power Play option, your prize will be multiplied by the factor chosen before the draw. The only exception is the $200,000 prize won for matching the 5 white numbers. Power Play will increase that prize to $1 million regardless of the multiplier.
