In 1978, Unicord Corporation began making Westbury electric guitars. The guitars were produced until the early 1980s.
Production

Westbury guitars were produced by the Matsumoko guitar factory in Japan. After a fire in the factory, Westbury guitars were made in Korea until 1982. All Unicord Corporation production stopped in 1985 when the company was bought by Korg.

Westbury electric guitars are named for the location of the original Unicord wholesale distribution center located in Westbury, New York.
