Zune Update Problems
Like all electronics, Zune MP3 players can have many errors and bugs. Many of these errors occur when the Zune software on the device will not update. Without updates, the Zune device will not play DRM-restricted songs that must be updated monthly.

Each error code specifies a reason for the update problem. Error codes may indicate a problem with an Internet connection, insufficient space or a device in self-recovery mode.

One solution to most update problems is to disconnect the Zune from the computer and then reconnect it. You may also try to manually restart the Zune by holding the back button and the top of the Zune pad for a few seconds. The final option is to uninstall the Zune software and firmware, and then re-install them.

If every solution fails, your only option is to completely erase everything on the Zune device. While the Zune marketplace will allow you to re-download any music you purchased, it does not keep track of music from CDs or items downloaded from other programs.
