Problems With Yahoo and Hotmail Email Programs

Yahoo and Hotmail are two popular free email providers that allow you to sign up for accounts to keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues. When using these problems there are a variety of problems you may encounter.

Function

The main function of Yahoo and Hotmail is to communicate with others on the Internet. This includes the free messaging services linked to each type of email: Yahoo! Instant Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. These services are allowed in the browser and may not load if you do not have an updated browser or the proper Flash and Java programs.

Security

Yahoo and Hotmail users may run into security issues when public computers are used. There is no way to control phishing or keylogging scams. This allows hackers into your account to send spam to those in your address book. Remember to always log out when using a public computer.

Spam

Spam can be a big issue with Yahoo or Hotmail accounts. If you find spam in your inbox you can mark it as spam so that in the future it is sent to your spam folder. However, from time to time your non-spam mail may be found in your spam folder as well, so do check it periodically so you don't miss a legitimate email.
