What Does Evolutionary Mean?

Evolutionary is a concept most commonly associated with Charles Darwin, a scientist who wrote extensively on the theory of evolution in the 19th century and how living species of plants and animals change their characteristics to adapt to their environment over time. However, evolutionary also applies to other concepts.

Evolutionary is a gradual process where something changes into a different, and generally more complex, or more advanced form.

Applications

Many industries use the term evolutionary to describe certain attributes of goods or services. Information technology commonly uses the term to describe new and better products. For example, this computer is evolutionary as it uses advanced artificial intelligence to complete user tasks.

Considerations

Because the world is in a constant state of flux, many aspects of life fall under the evolutionary concept. Mankind constantly tries to make things better; however, evolutionary changes do not always create the desired end result.
