Man's best friend doesn't seem so friendly when it has an accident on your couch.

Microfiber refers to a type of synthetic fabric that mimics the look of suede but is cheaper and easier to clean. According to The Vinegar Institute and Clean Your Microfiber, white vinegar removes urine smells and stains. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Cleaning

    • Pour white vinegar on the stain and let it sit for at least five minutes. Use a dry sponge to slowly move the vinegar around the stain, working from the center to the edges. Blot the vinegar with a dry towel. Repeat if needed.

    Warning

    • For fresh dog stains or stains that are still wet, gently blot the surface with a dry towel to soak up the urine. If you immediately start rubbing the stain, it will cause the urine to soak into the padding.

    Alternatives

    • Cold water and laundry detergent are suitable for cleaning urine off microfiber, too. Use 1 part detergent to 4 parts water and apply it to the stains. Rinse with cool water to remove the soap, then blot dry.
