Research your wedding cruise options carefully.

Cruises provide a romantic and unique venue for wedding ceremonies. Cruise line wedding packages vary, ranging from simple beach ceremonies to full ceremony and reception combinations. Typical cruise packages do not include cabin and travel expenses you and your guests will incur, so be sure to factor those costs in as well.

  1. Holland America Line

    • Ceremonies on the Holland America Line include a personalized ceremony, a wedding coordinator, flowers, cake, champagne and a keepsake wedding certificate. They cost an average of $2,500 depending on the location, which ranges from a simple shipboard ceremony to helicopter transport atop an Alaskan glacier. A basic reception fee for 10 guests is an additional $200.

    Royal Caribbean

    • Royal Caribbean wedding packages include destinations such as Alaska, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico. Ceremonies can take place on the ship or at select land-side locations, and prices range from $2,195 to $5,595. Be sure to account for extra charges for your marriage license, flowers and photography, among other things. A reception will cost an additional $32 to $48 per person and additional charges, such as for music and microphone setup, will apply.

    Princess Cruises

    • With the Tie the Knot at Sea package, Princess Cruises offers a wedding chapel ceremony, captain as officiant, a wedding coordinator, live music, flowers, photography service and photos, wedding cake for two, one bottle of champagne and a keepsake wedding certificate for $2,250. In addition, an onboard reception will cost a minimum of $21 per person.
