Telesales Negotiation Training
A telesales negotiator sells products and services over the phone, calling potential clients whose names have been placed on a preselected list. They are often referred to as telemarketers or customer service representatives. Telesales negotiators can be trained in several ways.
-
Education
-
Telesales negotiators typically need no more than a high school diploma to get hired. However, post-secondary schools such as community colleges and universities can not only increase their chances of advancement, but help them train for a customer service position. That's especially true of courses in English, communications and computers.
Certification
-
While a certification is not a requirement for a telesales negotiator, it can prove to be useful. Certifications are often available through professional sales organizations or vocational schools and often focus on the skills needed in the industry, such as professionalism, organization and marketing.
-
On the Job
-
Most telesales negotiators receive paid training while on the job from a former employee who has advanced into a training manager position. These training classes can last anywhere from five days to six weeks and instruct workers on how to use the computers and phone systems, as well as proper phone etiquette.
