Auto Appraisal Training
Automobile appraisers estimate the value on various types of vehicles for insurance purposes. Most auto appraisers are employed by auto insurance companies to estimate the value of vehicles damaged in accidents or the cost of repairs to damaged vehicles.

Prerequisites
-
While there are no standardized education prerequisites for automobile appraisers, a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required for consideration. Companies also give priority to applicants with either a college education, vocational training or experience in the insurance industry.
Training
-
Training for most entry level positions within the automobile appraisal industry typically consists of on-the-job training under the supervision of a more experienced worker. This training period usually lasts several months. After the initial training period ends, continuing education is critical as appraisers must stay current on new models and repair techniques.

Qualifications
-
A valid driver's license and good driving record are a must for getting a job as an auto appraiser. Also, because appraisers often work closely with claimants and insurance professionals, good communication and interpersonal skills are strongly recommended. Some companies also require applicants to pass written exams on communication, analytic skills and math.
