What Is a Good Way to Give Away Centerpieces?
Hosts of events with centerpieces such as wedding receptions, baby showers, and even birthday parties, can give the centerpieces away at the end of the event. This allows guests to enjoy the centerpieces that might otherwise go to waste. Hosts can choose from several different ways to give away centerpieces. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Random Gifts
-
Before guests arrive, hosts can place a small item or sticker under one plate at each table. While guests are seated, the host can announce that guests should look under their plates, and the person with the item under her plate gets to take home the centerpiece. Other ways to choose a random winner include a raffle, or by announcing that the person with a birthday closest to the current date gets the centerpiece.
Thank You Gifts
-
If some guests were especially helpful in planning the event, these guests can receive centerpieces as thank you presents. Hosts should determine beforehand who to offer the centerpieces to, and award them at the end of the event.
-
Games
-
If the event includes games, as is common at baby showers and bridal showers, the winners can receive centerpieces as prizes. If the party does not have games, the host can add a simple one such as "hot potato" with a napkin, and awarding the centerpiece to the person who has the napkin when the music stops.
