2006 Volkswagen Jetta Torque Specifications

Volkswagen, which also manufactures the Beetle, began producing the Jetta in 1980.

In 1980, Volkswagen began producing the Jetta, a compact sedan. The 2006 model, which includes a new design, comes in seven trims and offers three engine options that put out varying torque measurements.

1.9-liter Engine

The 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI is the only model with a 1.9-liter engine. This vehicle's in-line engine delivers 100 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and 177 foot-pounds of torque at 1,800 rpm. These engines also provide 1,896 cubic centimeters of displacement.

2.0-liter Engine

Two 2006 Volkswagen Jetta trims -- the 2.0T and the GLI -- feature a 2.0-liter engine. In addition to delivering 200 horsepower at 5,100 rpm, these cars also provide 207 foot-pounds of torque at 1,800 rpm. The displacement of the 2.0-liter engine measures 1,984 cubic centimeters.

2.5-liter Engine

A 2.5-liter engine comes standard on four 2006 Volkswagen Jetta trims: the Value Edition, Value Edition PZEV, 2.5L and 2.5L PZEV. These Jettas provide 150 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 170 foot-pounds of torque at 3,750 rpm. The engine displacement measures 2,480 cubic centimeters on these models.
