Quebec is Canada's largest province in size.

The province of Quebec is Canada's only official French-speaking province. Quebec City is the province capital, founded in 1608. The weather in the region ranges from very cold winters to mild, dry summers.

  1. Winter

    • Winters in Quebec are usually extremely cold with temperatures dropping as low as minus 16 degrees Celsius, in January. The average annual snowfall in Qubec is 135 inches. Temperatures will stay below zero until the spring months. Warm clothes, gloves and snow boots or overshoes are necessary clothing when going outdoors.

    Summer

    • Summers temperatures in Quebec reach a high of around 25 degrees Celsius but evenings are colder. The ports of Quebec City and Montreal face the Atlantic Ocean and are susceptible to sea breezes and rainstorms.

    General

    • Montreal has the most humid summers of any location in Quebec and regularly experiences heat waves. Winters are longer in the province's eastern regions than in the southwest. Warm clothes are necessary when visiting the St. Lawrence estuary and gulf or the mountain areas.
