Georgia Law Enforcement Gang Training
Georgia police officers can take part in gang training designed for them to learn about gang attire, graffiti and other trends. They can participate in training provided by the state and anti-gang groups.

The state of Georgia provides gang training for law enforcement officers at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth. Other gang training takes place at local police departments.
State Courses

The Street Gang ID and Awareness Course is an eight- hour course designed to update teach law enforcement officers about the trends and activities of drug gangs, according to the GPSTC Course Detail. The GPSTC also offers a 40 hour Gang Investigator Course for police officers already involved in gang investigations. This course introduces officers to the techniques and trends of street level gangs, dealers and couriers of illegal drugs.

The Golden Isles Gang Suppression Unit is housed within the Brunswick Police Department. Several local and campus police departments take part in GIGS. One of its missions is to provide training that qualifies officers as a gang specialist or street gang specialist.
