Decorating a Bedroom with Star Wars

Your child is dreaming of a galaxy far, far away and a Jedi destiny. Delight your science fiction enthusiast with a Star Wars-themed bedroom design. Incorporate his favorite films into the decor of his room to personalize it -- without resorting to licensed characters on the bedding and Ewok curtains.

Walls

Depict the otherworldly desert of Tatooine on the walls.

Paint a desolate desert landscape on the walls in shades of tan, red and ocher to evoke the planet Tatooine. Punctuate this backdrop with decals of favorite characters for a younger child or with the vintage film posters for a more sophisticated teen fan. Neutral tan drapes or a bamboo shade provide a versatile window treatment for this design.

Ceiling

Paint the ceiling deep blue or violet and add glow-in-the-dark adhesive stars. Affix white twinkle lights to the perimeter of the ceiling so when it's time to go dark, your would-be Jedi will be surrounded by the illumination of the galaxies.
