An adult white mouse weighs about an ounce, grows to between three and four inches in length plus its tail, and has a lifespan of one to three years in captivity.
Habitat

White mice adapt to their surroundings and are easy to care for as pets. A glass tank 18 inches wide by 12 inches deep and 12 inches high is suitable for one mouse. The lid must be well ventilated and closed securely as mice are good at escaping.

Wood shavings or sawdust is appropriate substrate and your mouse will make his own bed area from this material whereverhe feels the most secure, usually in a corner or inside a play tube. Never use cedar or pine as these are highly toxic to rodents.
Exercise

White mice need lots of exercise and things to do. They are nocturnal mammals and sleep through the day, becoming active at night. An exercise wheel lets them run off excess energy and cardboard tubes provide play areas and hiding spots.
Food

Prepared dried food from a pet store provides white mice with the right level of nutrition and variety in their diet. The balanced mix of cereals, fruit and vegetables contains all the necessary vitamins to keep your pet in good shape. Wood chews are also beneficial for keeping teeth healthy.
