According to Nissan, the 2010 Nissan Murano has achieved the highest safety rating on impacts from the front, rear and sides from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for side-impact safety.

  1. Engine

    • The 2010 Nissan Murano features a 3.5-liter, direct overhead cam, V-6 engine, offering 265 horsepower at 6,000 revolutions per minute. Fuel consumption is 18 miles per gallon (mpg) for city driving and 23 mpg on the highway.

    Brakes

    • The 2010 Murano features 12.6-inch front vented and 12.1-inch rear vented disc brakes. These are complemented by a four-wheel antilock braking system.

    Safety

    • For the safety of its occupants, the 2010 Murano features front and rear crumple zones, front, side and roof-mounted air bags and an energy absorbing steering column. Other safety features include a tire pressure monitoring system and a so-called LATCH ("Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren") system for younger passengers.
