What Is an Airhawk?
Airhawk is a company that manufactures seating for motorcyclists. Bikers have been known to report numbness in their upper legs on long rides, and Airhawk cushions were created to alleviate the pain caused by uneven seating.

History
-
The technology behind Airhawk seating began as cushioning for wheelchairs. People who remain seated for hours can find it to be uncomfortable and are susceptible to life-threatening skin ulcers. Robert H. Graebe invented the ROHO cushion, which uses, according to airhawk.net, "supple interconnecting air cells to allow a patient to virtually float on air." That technology was later developed into cushioning for truckers and later the Airhawk cushion for motorcyclists.
Where to Buy One
-
Those interested in purchasing an Airhawk cushion can find them in bike stores across the country as well as several Internet stores such as therohostore.com, bikercusion.com and cruisercustomizing.com.

Cost
-
The most inexpensive Airhawk cushion currently on the market is the Airhawk 2 Cruiser Pillion Seating System, which retails for $91.95. Prices range up to $189.95. There are a total of eight models.
