Specs for a Designjet 5000 Series

The DesignJet 5000 printer series consists of a 42-inch and 60-inch model. Both have been discontinued by Hewlett-Packard. The printers offer six-color images through an open raster image processor system allowing the user to manage the printing jobs from any Internet connection.

Weight and Dimensions

The Designjet 5000 42-inch model weighs 181 lbs. and has a width of 78 inches, a depth of 27 inches and a height of 50 inches. The 60-inch model weighs 243 lbs. It is also 96 inches wide and features the same depth and height as the 42-inch model.

Paper Options

Paper options include sheets and rolls. Both models have the ability to handle sheet sizes as large as 36 inches wide and 63 inches long. Paper rolls with a width of 24, 36 and 42 inches will fit in the 42-inch DesignJet printer. In addition, the 60-inch model will accommodate rolls with a width of 54 and 60 inches. The paper rolls should be no longer than 300 feet.

Memory

Each printer includes a 5 GB hard disk and 128 MB of RAM with the ability to expand to 256 MB of RAM.

Energy Usage

As an Energy Star approved printer, the DesignJet 5000 printers use 52 watts of energy in standby mode, 60 watts when idling and 350 watts maximum energy consumption when in use.
