    Display Resolutions

    • Multimedia projectors offer display resolutions in a typical range of 720p (1280-by-720 pixels) to 1080p (1920-by-1080 pixels.) A resolution is the number of pixels that can be displayed in an image. Super video graphics array, or SVGA, multimedia projectors offer standard resolutions of 800-by-600 pixels, while XGA, or Extended Graphics Array, multimedia projectors provide resolutions of 1024-by-768 pixels.

    Technologies

    • Multimedia projector technology varies according to system. Cathode ray tube (CRT), multimedia projectors project light through three tubes colored green, blue and red, and are considered bulkier than many other multimedia projectors. Liquid crystal display (LCD) multimedia projectors use prisms and halide lamps to project an image based on input signals, and are commonly used in business applications and home theater systems.
