The Core Diet was developed in 2000 by Jesse Kropelnicki, with the goal of optimizing athlete nutrition. Kropelnicki's meal plans help the athlete choose nutrient-rich foods that will both satisfy hunger and energy needs while keeping weight off, which is essential for most athletes. This program is recommended to athletes who need rigid assistance on their meal planning and timing.

  1. Basics

    • After purchasing the Core Diet meal plan package, foods will be recommended to you based on your personal starting point and goals. Kropelnicki designs meal plans around lean meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes and lean dairy. Processed foods, sugar and carbohydrates are nearly absent from the diet, but may be suggested at times to those who are involved in long distance sports or need to gain weight to perform better in their sport.

    Criteria

    • Upon purchasing the plan, you will be given a free body composition test. This test will tell you how much of your total body weight is muscle and how much is fat, or your body fat percentage. From this starting point, a coach will discuss with you one-on-one over the phone what your ideal meal plan is for your weight and sport. The Core Diet values not only suggesting the appropriate foods, but explaining to you why they are effective.

    Outline

    • Each member is given a dietitian, who she can contact on a daily basis as needed. Seven example menus are given from which the member can learn and design her own meals, keeping calories moderate and nutrients dense. Periodic body fat check-ups will also be given to monitor progress. Members have access to a member forum where they can discuss progress with other members and hold each other accountable. Athletes can use their dietitian to recommend the best meals pre-game and post-game to figure out which foods optimize athletic performance.
