Rugged Design

The early models were anything but luxurious. The windshield was shaped like a monocle and did not extend to the passenger side. There were two seats, a heavy clutch, a stiff brake and it was not easy to steer.

The Bearcat name was dropped in 1924 after Harry Stutz, who founded the company, left. The name returned in the early 1930s. With a new engine, the Bearcat and Super Bearcat could exceed 100 mph. Stutz ended production in 1934, during the Depression.
