About Cherokee Workwear Scrubs

Cherokee is a clothing brand that was established in 1972. The company provides consumers with "ready to wear" apparel and Rockers, which is footwear designed specifically for health care professionals.

  1. Fabric

    • Cherokee's Workwear collection is made of a poly/cotton blend poplin fabric. Klopman International introduced the concept of the poly/cotton workwear to Europe in 1968 and describes the fabric as 65 percent polyester and 35 percent cotton. Poplin is a plain crosswise rib weaving of the fabric that is durable and heavy.

    Soil Release Feature

    • The collection offers protection to the wearer through a soil release feature, which enables wearers to resist dirt and harmful contamination. The soil release and repellent properties are introduced to the fabric substrates via selected electron-donating carboxylic acid groups. Investors Trinidad Mares, James Harris and Jett Arthur Jr., describe the process in United States Patent 4063885. The trio explains that treated fabrics manifest high durability and varied construction and compositions, making them able to withstand constant laundering and pressing.

    Styles and Colors

    • The Cherokee Workwear collection includes v-neck scrub tops with a mock wrap, stretch crease pants, v-neck cardigans, snap front and v-neck tunics, zip front jackets, drawstring and utility pants and a mock wrap tunic. It offers unisex tunics and tops alongside short- and long-sleeved shirts. The collection is available in more than 18 colors.
