The Chivalrous Code of Conduct
The Knights Code of Chivalry, commonly known as the chivalrous code of conduct, is a broad series of living standards that has a history dating to 12th-century Europe. Understood by all, though never clearly defined, as a social, moral and at times religious code of conduct, the code of chivalry is traditionally viewed as a set of ideals associated with the life, duties and manners of medieval knights.

Courage

To be courageous in the face of danger was a major staple of the chivalrous code of conduct. Fighting courageously for righteousness, justice and the welfare of all, no matter how perilous the situation, was to follow the Code of Chivalry. To never refuse an equal's challenge and to never turn your back on a foe were common themes of the code.
Honor

Living a virtuous, honorable life was another major theme of following the chivalrous code. This required knights and other followers of the code to respect authority, women and the church, as well as guard the honor of family and fellow knights.

Service to liege lord, church and community was an important aspect of the code. Providing loyal services and seeing projects through to the end highlighted the dedication of those who followed the Knights Code, as did protecting the defenseless, weak, widows and orphans against political, social and natural dangers.
