Margaritas on the Rocks
-
For a margarita on the rocks, you'll mix the juice and liquor together, then pour it into the cup over a few cubes of ice. Garnish with a lime wedge. The majority of recipes will make more than one drink. For 6 cups of margaritas on the rocks, use 3 cups of chilled tequila, 3/4 cups of chilled triple sec and 2 1/2 cups of chilled, fresh-squeezed lime juice or a can of frozen lime juice.
Frozen Margaritas
-
For frozen margaritas, you'll need a blender. To make 4 cups of margaritas, before blending, place 2 cups of ice into the blender. On top of the ice, add 1/4 cup of lime juice, 1 1/2 cups of sweet and sour, 3/4 cup of tequila, 1/4 cup of triple sec and 3/4 tsp of sugar, which is optional. Now place the top on your blender and blend the ingredients together until slushy. For a thicker drink, add more ice.

Preparing Your Glass
-
Before pouring the margarita into a glass, you should prepare it. A margarita glass has a stem, and is wide and shallow. Wet the rim of the glass with a wet cloth, dip it in a bowl of water, or wet it with lime juice. Then dip the rim into rock salt or margarita salt until the rim has a nice layer of salt sticking to it. Adding salt to the rim of a margarita glass is optional.
