All-Season
-
Whether you choose a standard or high-performance tire, pick one that it is all-season. This will provide the best traction in both wet and dry weather. Standard all-season tires also usually offer the best warranties.
High-Performance
-
High-performance tires are a good option for sports cars as they offer better handling and grip. Ultra high-performance tires offer even better handling but usually do not come with a treadwear warranty.
-
Specifications
-
Match the specifications of your new tires to those of your old tires. Otherwise you might pick a tire that is not right for the weight of your vehicle which can cause serious problems.
Treadwear Warranty
-
Inquire about treadwear warranty. This is a set number of miles that the manufacturer guarantees the tread will last and your tires will be replaced if the tread wears out too soon. Warranties can be as high as 100,000 miles or as low as none.
