How to Compare Olympus Digital Voice Recorders
Olympus offers a wide range of digital voice recorders. Voice recorders can vary greatly in price as well as function. Before buying a voice recorder, consider what features you will need and how much you are willing to spend.
-
Basic Voice Recorders
-
If you are just planning to give dictation, then a basic voice recorder like the DP-10 is a good, affordable choice. It has fewer features, but large buttons to make it easier to use.
Mid-Level Recorders
-
One step up from the basic recorder are Olympus' WS-400S and WS-600S. These recorders are suitable for professional audio use and have a microphone attachment for interviews or sound recording. They have many features for file management and can plug directly into your computer to use with any audio software.

High-End Recorders
-
The DS-2400 is Olympus' most advanced and most expensive digital voice recorder, as of 2010. It includes 2 GB of storage space, which can record up to 159 hours of audio. It also has voice activation software that tells it to record as soon as it detects sound. It can plug into your computer and high-quality audio suitable for any professional use, especially when paired with a microphone.

I have a conversation recorded on an old cell phone of my cousin who had cancer and specified her last wishes, that she also had put in her Will. She has passed away and the Will is being contested, court date next month. My problem is that her voice is frail and there is back round noise I would like to delete to hear her clearer, what is the best digital recorder that I can record it to and adjust her voice tone, along with cut out back round noises?
