California OSHA Regulation

California OSHA Regulation thumbnail
California OSHA provides comprehensive laws for workplace safety.

The state of California has a comprehensive system of laws governing safety within the workplace. These laws are consolidated under the California Office of Safety and Health Administration or what is commonly called Cal/OSHA.

  1. Features

    • An important feature of Cal/OSHA is its coordination with Federal OSHA, which maintains a national database of workplace actions. Anyone wishing to check to see if an employer or business has had some type of OSHA action can access the database.

    Reporting Violations

    • If you want to file a report of an accident in the workplace or a complaint against an employer or business for a safety or health violation, then you should contact the local enforcement office. You can also file a complaint online.

    Function

    • Cal/OSHA offers a unique consultation service to California employers who need assistance in complying with federal and state OSHA laws or who are seeking to provide a safe work environment. The consultation services are offered free of charge.
