-
Go Vertical
-
If counter space is limited, take advantage of wall space. Hanging or wall-mounted pot racks free up space under cabinets so that small appliances can be stored away. Hang fruits and vegetables from baskets. Hang a message board for notes, recipes and phone numbers.
Kitchen Cart
-
If you have enough room, a rolling kitchen cart can store the microwave, extra pots and pans, appliances, aluminum foil and wraps, and other sundry items. If the kitchen is large enough, consider installing an island.
-
Sorters and Organizers
-
Home improvement stores offer various sizes and styles of drawer and cabinet organizers to hold items like spice racks and knife blocks. Sorters will hold mail, bills, magazines and coupons. If you have a pantry, hang shelves inside the door.
Undermount Storage
-
If there is enough space, microwaves and coffeemakers can be mounted under upper cabinets. Racks mounted under cabinets can hold wine, glasses and cookbooks.
