Performance Differences Between PC2-6200 & PC2-8500 RAM
Random Access Memory (RAM) is the third fastest component in the typical computer, with the graphics card and CPU taking the top two spots. Having the fastest RAM possible will produce a computer with better stability and more multitasking options.

PC2-6200 Benefits
-
PC2-6200 RAM is a DDR specification that has a theoretical data rate of 800 mega transfers per second. This type of RAM is commonly available in a two-gigabyte size.
PC2-8500 benefits
-
PC2-8500 RAM is a DDR specification that has a theoretical data rate of 1066 mega transfers per second. This type of RAM is commonly available in a two-gigabyte size.

Considerations
-
Before purchasing PC2-6200 or PC2-8500, you must make sure that the motherboard supports RAM at those speeds. If the motherboard is capable of supporting the speeds of both types of RAM without artificially lowering the speed of the PC2-8500, then it is fair to say that the PC2-8500 will perform 25 percent faster than the PC2-6200, if all other variables are the same.
