Background

The Mesa, Arizona Police Department developed the Crime Free Program in 1992. Since then, almost 2,000 cities in almost all 50 states have adopted the program. Five Canadian provinces and nine other countries including Japan, Finland and Afghanistan also use the program.
Certiifcation
-
Participants in the Crime Free Program complete three phases of certification. A property manager may complete each phase of the training while a physical property is not certified until completion of all three phases of the program. Law enforcement personnel provide training.
