Funding for Low Income Schools

Funding for Low Income Schools thumbnail
Programs are in place to provide funding for low-income schools.

State, county and city budgets try to incorporate education spending, but students and teachers may not have all the tools they need in low-income areas. Likewise, some students may not be able to afford the higher education they desire. Programs are available to help those in need.

  1. School Support and Technology Programs

    • School Support and Technology Programs (SSTP) provides funding for "education technology, school facilities, parent information assistance centers, and comprehensive education assistance centers."

    Federal Student Aid

    • The U.S. government's Federal Student Aid program provides information for college students interested in grants, student loans and scholarships. It is meant for low-income students wanting to attend college who do not otherwise have the financial means to do so.

    FAFSA

    • FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and any student wishing to attend college and interested in financial assistance to do so may apply. Based on the personal information you provide in your application, such as age, dependency status, school of choice, and family income, you may be eligible for free or borrowed money from the government that can be used to attend school.
