What Is New Hampshire's State Food?
New Hampshire, otherwise known as the Granite State, was one of the original 13 colonies. While the state has numerous official emblems, it does not have an official food. However, it does have three emblems related to food.

State Fruit

The pumpkin is New Hampshire's official state fruit. Because of the efforts of a group of third- and fourth-graders, the pumpkin became New Hampshire's official state fruit on July 5, 2006. These students were from the Keene area, which is known for its annual pumpkin festival.
State Freshwater Fish

The brook trout is New Hampshire's official freshwater fish. The brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) has been New Hampshire's freshwater fish since Aug. 7, 1994. This fish is known for being able to feed on a variety of organisms and can weigh up to 14.5 pounds.

State Saltwater Game Fish

The striped bass is New Hampshire's official saltwater game fish. The striped bass (Roccus saxatilis) has been New Hampshire's saltwater game fish since May 6, 1994. This fish can live up to 12 years and is important to sport and commercial fisheries.
