Join the Kids

Jump the waves with your kids. Swimming and building sand castles are standard fare at the beach. Throw in a twist by getting in the water with the kids and playing sharks and minnows, or having chicken fights. Grab a boogie board and ride a wave. Kids play well together but when parents join in it takes fun to the next level.
Out of the Ordinary Games

Bury sand toys for the kids to find. For something out of the ordinary, plan a treasure hunt at the beach. Hide treasures under the sand near landmarks so they are not impossible to find. Answering only yes and no questions, watch the kids hunt down the booty. Beach themed sand toys or goggles make good treasure.

Capture the fun with photos. Take pictures of the kids having fun, and let the kids take pictures of you, too. Go on a family nature walk and photograph shells, sea life and the scenery.
