What Is it Like to Be a Room Attendant at a Hotel?

A room attendant at a hotel works to make sure hotel rooms are comfortable, clean and full stocked for the hotel guests. Though the job comes with less pleasant experiences such as overbearing guests and cleaning bathrooms, there are a variety of perks as well.

  1. Importance

    • A room attendant is available to help hotel guests with any amenities or items they need to make their hotel room feel like home. When the guest leaves for the day, unless the guest declines services, the attendant must go in and make the beds, empty the trash and clean the bathroom.

    Considerations

    • When the guest checks out, the room attendant must go into the room and spotless clean everything. All toiletries and other complimentary items are restocked as well as change the sheets, vacuum and dust.

    Training

    • No formal education is needed to be a room attendant, but on-site training is required.
