Home Remedy to Get Rid of Pet Urine Odor thumbnail
Cat urine can be a tough odor to get rid of.

Although proper training and behavior modification techniques can be effective at stopping pets from urinating in the wrong spot, old urine odors may entice the pet to continue to eliminate there. Baking soda is an effective tool for removing these offending smells. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Laundry

    • Pets will sometimes urinate on clothing, bedding or other laundry that has made its way onto the floor. According to the Humane Society of America, baking soda can be used to clean machine-washable items soiled with pet waste. Add approximately one pound of baking soda to each load of pet-soiled laundry.

    Carpet

    • Use baking soda on urine-soiled carpets to eliminate germs, odors and stains. Spread baking soda on the soiled area and lightly brush it into the carpet with a broom or scrub brush. Leave the baking soda on the carpet for at least 15 minutes, and then vacuum the area well.
