Capris 50-300 UV Laser Specifications

Capris 50-300 UV Laser Specifications thumbnail
The Capris 50-300 is capable of laser marking wires for aircraft wiring bundles.

The Capris 50-300 is a mid-range ultraviolet (UV) solid state laser wire marking system. It marks, measures, and cuts wires used in the aerospace industry. Once measured, cut and marked, the individual wires are made by hand into custom wiring bundles for commercial and military aircraft.

  1. Speed

    • The number of feet that can be marked per minute is one indicator of the capacity of a laser marking system. The Capris 50-300 is capable of marking up to 100 feet of wire per minute.

    Total Throughput

    • By averaging customer requirements and manufacturing systems, another measure of a wire marking machine's capacity is its average throughput per 8 hour shift. The Capris 50-300 is capable of marking 14,000 feet of wire in an average production environment.

    Effects on Marking Speed

    • Several factors can slow down the total throughput of the system. Marking and cutting wires shorter than 18 inches will slow the system down. In addition, more characters on the wire will lower throughput as will spacing markings closer than 3 inches apart.

    Laser Specifications

    • The Longbow UV laser in the Capris 50-300 is a neodymium/YAG laser. This solid state laser operates in at the 355 nanometer (NM) wavelength. The laser is a Class 1 laser that doesn't require special laser safety enclosures or training.
