Compare Rowenta Irons

Rowenta makes several models of steam irons. If you do not iron much, you might be happy with a Rowenta iron with fewer features. But before choosing an iron it is important to take a moment to consider which features you want. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Common Features

    • All Rowenta steam irons have vertical steam, cool spray mist and automatic shutoff features. In addition, they all have a comfort handle; a covered filling inlet, to keep dust out of the water tank; an anti-calcium feature to allow the use of tap water; a no-drip system to stop the flow of water when the iron becomes to cool to make steam; and self-cleaning feature, according to the Rowenta USA website.

    Steam Delivery

    • Although all of the Rowenta irons have a feature called "burst of steam," to aim extra steam where and when needed, some of the models include a variable steam feature. Variable steam ensures that the amount of steam automatically adjusts for the heat setting to make sure that delicate fabrics do not get high steam. However, some people prefer to adjust the amount of steam manually.

    Considerations

    • The weight of the iron is a factor. Some people prefer a heavy iron because the weight helps to smooth wrinkles. Another important consideration is the soleplate material: stainless steel or a stainless steel core with a thin, nonstick, scratch-resistant silicate coating. Other features to compare include ease of reading the controls, the electrical wattage the iron uses, as well as the water tank capacity. A larger tank requires fewer refills during an ironing session.
