Why Do You Need PH Balanced Shampoo?
Many stylists recommend using a pH balanced shampoo to keep hair healthy, shiny and strong. "Potential hydrogen" is a measure of acidity and alkalinity on a numbered scale. Hair's pH is between 4.5 and 5.5 on that scale. Does this Spark an idea?

Keeps Hair Smooth and Shiny
-
Using pH balanced shampoos helps to prevent spit ends. Using a pH balanced shampoo closes the hair's outer surface, known as the cuticle layer. A closed cuticle layer keeps hair smooth and shiny. Non-pH balanced shampoos open the cuticle layer and expose the hair's cortex, or inner layer, leaving each strand vulnerable to damage.
Keeps Oily Hair Fresh
-
Shampoos that are pH balanced remove dirt and excess oil from the hair and scalp. Unlike pH balanced shampoos, harsher shampoos strip too much oil. causing the oil glands, known as sebaceous glands, to work twice as hard, producing even more oil than before.

Keeps Color Treated Hair Vibrant
-
Color molecules stay inside the hair shaft longer when you use a pH balanced shampoo. When hair color is applied, the cuticle layer opens and allows color molecules to be deposited into the cortex layer. Using a pH balanced shampoo closes the cuticle layer, keeping color molecules inside the hair shaft longer, preventing fading and keeping hair color more vibrant.

Some shampoos are made more acidic on purpose to increase shine but those state right on the bottle that they are acidified
