Swimming pools have added fun to many hot summer days. They come in a variety of prices, types and sizes to suit your needs. Pools, depending on the type, can be installed by the consumer or a professional.

Above Ground Pools

Above ground pools range in price from $800 to $4500. Although they are not as pleasing to the eye as an in ground pool, they offer lower prices and the ability to take them with you when you move. They can be round or oval, and come in a variety of sizes and depths.

Polymer Pools

Polymer pools, like above ground pools, can be installed by the consumer. Ranging in price from $6,000 to $15,000 they offer the cost effectiveness of do-it-yourself with the beauty of an in ground pool. They are available in a variety of sizes and styles. Like their above ground counterpart, they do require a liner.

Formed Fiberglass Pools

Formed fiberglass pools start at $8,000 (not including installation) for a small design and range upwards of $40,000 for specialty designs installed. Fiberglass is a durable material that gets stronger with age and does not require a pool liner. The designs are limited to what the manufacturers offer.

Concrete and Gunite Pools

Concrete and Gunite pools average $25,000 installed for the basic pool and range upwards of $50,000 for elaborate designs. The advantage to these types of pools is the wide variety of sizes and styles available. They can even be designed with hot tubs and waterfalls as part of the structure. These pools are extremely durable and do not require a liner.
