Recovery for Data Loss
PC, Mac and Linux computer users utilize hard drives to transfer and store data. Data can be lost for a variety of reasons, including file system and hard drive errors. Recovery methods can be used to help retrieve lost data.

Definition
-
Data recovery is the salvaging or restoration of digital information from a computer system or other storage media when that data can no longer be accessed via standard commands.
Disk-Level Data Recovery
-
Damage to your computer's hard disk or file system can result in data loss. Such failures can often leave data only partly accessible, and therefore difficult to impossible for your system to read and interpret. Disk recovery software such as GetDataBack and RAID Reconstructor for various operating systems can often be used to restore lost data.

Operating System Failure
-
Operating system (OS) failure can be caused by corruption to a single disk, which can in turn corrupt a file system, which can ultimately corrupt and lead to the failure of your operating system. You can recover lost data by copying it to storage media called a live CD. Live CDs are compact disks that include self-booting operating systems.
