What Are Audible Intruder Alarms?
Audible intruder alarms are perimeter alarms that set off a loud siren when triggered. They are one of the cheapest security systems available, but they are also prone to misfires and government restriction. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Function
-
The function of an audible intruder alarm is to alert homeowners and/or neighbors to the presence of an intruder. The alarms are also intended to scare off would-be criminals by drawing attention to their presence.
Misfires
-
The problem with most audible intruder alarms is the risk of misfires. This is when an alarm either goes off without cause or is triggered by something innocent, such as a child or a pet.
-
Noise Nuisance
-
Audible intruder alarms, especially those that misfire repeatedly, are sometimes subject to local government restriction. These restrictions are often based on the argument that audible alarms violate local noise ordinances and can thus be classified as "noise pollution."
