How Do You Clean Grease Off the Stove Burners?
Spills and spatters from regular cooking cause grease to accumulate on stove burners. The best strategy is to wipe burners down daily to prevent buildup. If kitchen grease is baked onto the burners, a few household items will help with the cleanup. Be sure burners are cool before removing them and dry them thoroughly before replacing them. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Soap and Water
-
If the grease on your burners isn't baked on, a quick soaking in soapy hot water should do the trick. Submerge the burners in the water for a few minutes to loosen grease and then scrub with a sponge. Rinse with clear water and let dry.
Baking Soda
-
Pour a little baking soda on a sponge and scrub the burners. For stubborn grease, pour a solution of 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 gallon of water into a large pot, submerge burners and bring the water to a boil.
-
Abrasive Cleaners
-
If baked-on grease and food remains after soaking the burners, use an abrasive scouring cleanser and a sponge or steel wool pad and scrub until burners are clean.
