What to Expect When I Join the Navy Seals

The United States Navy SEALs are a highly-trained special operations group made of elite soldiers. Becoming a SEAL can be exceptionally difficult. Those allowed to join its ranks can expect to face many challenges.

  1. Function

    • Navy SEALs are responsible for conducting high-importance, difficult military missions that may prove too difficult or dangerous for regular forces. They work in small teams and operate on the ground, in the air and by seal to accomplish missions ranging from infiltration and intelligence gathering to search and rescue.

    Expectations

    • Those who become SEALs can expect to face a high degree of danger and difficulty in their everyday work environment. Due to their mission requirements, SEALs must be in optimal physical shape and pass a strenuous physical fitness test for consideration for admittance into the organization. SEALs can expect to spend plenty of time working out and staying fit. In addition, they must train extensively to complete the difficult missions they are tasked with.

    Warning

    • Navy SEALs are highly elite and respected soldiers. However, they also face a high degree of peril and face higher-than-normal risks when engaging in operations. Even those few qualified to become a SEAL should carefully consider the dangers of the job before attempting to join.
