The Oregon DMV website reports that state law requires minimum levels of liability to be provided by insurance providers for their customers. For example, in the event of a crash, each person's bodily injuries must be insured for a minimum of $25,000, along with $20,000 worth of coverage for property damage.
Proof

The Oregon Insurance Division website explains that Oregon law requires all drivers of motor vehicles to carry with them proof of insurance at all times when driving. Insurance companies must also provide each driver with an insurance card showing the start and end date of their policy.

Uninsured

Oregon law stipulates penalties for drivers who drive without insurance; these penalties include fines, suspension of a driver's license and the impounding of an uninsured vehicle. The Oregon Insurance Division website explains that each month the Oregon DMV randomly chooses drivers to provide proof of insurance.
