Information About a Bell & Howell Digital Camera
Bell and Howell make a line of inexpensive digital cameras designed for consumers who want to be able to take digital pictures, but don't want to spend a lot of money on a camera.
-
Resolution
-
Bell and Howell digital cameras use sensors that are half the advertised resolution of a camera and uses interpolation (doubling individual pixels) to make photos seem larger. For instance, a 10 megapixel Bell and Howell camera would have a 5 megapixel sensor in it. Photos taken with the cameras will be noticeably less sharp than those taken with other non-interpolated cameras.
Zoom
-
Bell and Howell cameras have only digital zoom. Digital zoom enlarges the individual pixels in a picture, rather than getting closer to a subject using the lens. Digital zoom can make a photo look blurry or pixelated.
-
Waterproof
-
Some Bell and Howell cameras such as the UW100 and WP5-bk are waterproof, allowing them to be used in the rain, or for short periods of time underwater.
Nigh Vision
-
Some Bell and Howell cameras such as the S7 are specially formulated to take pictures in dark situations. Those cameras are labeled by Bell and Howell as "Night Vision" cameras.
